Travel - Transport and how to get to Vail Colorado.

Hello & Welcome to all.  What do we do?  How do we get there?
Once you've landed in Denver and have experienced the fantastic terminal, we strongly recommend you to hire a vehicle preferably a four wheel drive ( just in case ) Shop around as prices do vary.
We know the last thing you feel like doing is drive for 2 hours once you have landed, after a long flight. But the resorts are spread out and it does save you money in the long run as transfers start around $75 per person one way
We found the CME Colorado Mountain Express, the best transfer company available, as they have a lot of vehicles.  Their contact number is listed below.  This year, there is another company called DME, Denver Mountain Express, who seem to be around $20 cheaper.  Their website address is www.resortshuttle.com, contact number is below.

With regards to Car Hire, we found Dollar probably the cheapest.  They always try to upgrade your vehicle, but they all do that.  A little something to remember is that if you carry a Gold Card, you are automatically covered for basic CDW (crash damage waiver). Car insurance starts around $15-$20 per day.
We recommend that when booking flights, if you're a fanatical skier - then fly directly.  You can fly into Eagle County Airport.  If not, then book a connecting flight, but book it with a stop-over in New York for a couple of days before your holiday.  This doesn't really cost any more on your flight, it's just the food and accommodation that are extra.  Some flight companies offer some great deals with inclusive stop-overs.

Have a good flight and hope to see you soon!  Mark & Helen.
